Since moving to NY from DC I have been inundated with the amount of events going on in every corner of this city. I live in Brooklyn and work in Manhattan and the coordination of finding where the free snacks are happening in just those TWO boroughs has me running around every day. Along with finding the free snacks, I love going to art gallery openings, the theater, museums, and finding out about all the cultural events New York has to offer. Fortunately, I moved with my best friend from high school so I already have a built-in activity partner. Unfortunately, neither of us truly knows what we should/should not spend our precious post-collegiate salaries on. Cue Culture Craver.

Culture Craver Beta is a social recommendation engine for the arts. Through a series of questions upon sign up, Culture Craver matches your tastes along with those of friends and critics that you can trust in order to help you discover events, movies, art shows etc. Users can rate and crave events, invite friends to events, and even purchase theater tickets from TKTS via the Culture Craver website. Along with their website, the Culture Craver iPhone app allows you to crave and rate on the go. The app isn’t as functional as the web version, but seeing as it’s still in beta testing I’m not going to get picky.
