Now that I’ve been running back and forth between New Jersey and New York more often, I’m dreaming of a lighter laptop–my old 12″ G4, while still smaller than the Mac laptops offered today, weighs in at 6+ pounds.
So after reading the New York Times Frugal Traveler column, in which writer Matt Gross buys an MSI Wind for under $450 and gets OS X runnning on it in under an hour, I’m wondering if I should try it. Will the small keyboard and small screen be an impediment to doing hours of work, or will my shoulders and back be so happy that my fingers and strained eyes won’t care?
Read the Frugal Traveler column, from April 15, here:

Boingboing even has a handy chart to tell you which of the many netbooks out there are the most compatible with OS X. Maybe the Lenovo S10…? It comes in colors, way more attractive than what else is out there. Here’s the comparison chart:

What I’d really like is a MacBook Air but it’s quite big in terms of dimensions (even though super light) and of course expensive.

Should I save up my money for the Air, or should I jump in and get the Lenovo S10 in cherry red?
