10 Ways to Use Siri on the iPhone

Here at Macworld in San Francisco, Joe Kissell, who writes for MacWorld and TidBITS, gave a talk on ways to use Siri on your iPhone 4S or iPhone 5. Here are some tips from his presentation.

5 directions you can give to Siri:

  1. “Will I need an umbrella today?”
  2. “Tell Sarah Smith I’m going to be 10 minutes late to our meeting today.”
  3. “Show me quiet sushi restaurants.” (These ratings come from Yelp.)
  4. “Tweet ‘Hello from Macworld.’ “
  5. “Post to my wall ‘Hello from Macworld.’ ” (Yes it can post to Facebook.)

5 things you probably didn’t know Siri could do:

  1. Give you maps outside the USA
  2. Open an app
  3. Take a picture
  4. Make restaurant reservations
  5. Give movie showtimes and buy tickets
