Here at Macworld in San Francisco, Joe Kissell, who writes for MacWorld and TidBITS, gave a talk on ways to use Siri on your iPhone 4S or iPhone 5. Here are some tips from his presentation.
5 directions you can give to Siri:
- “Will I need an umbrella today?”
- “Tell Sarah Smith I’m going to be 10 minutes late to our meeting today.”
- “Show me quiet sushi restaurants.” (These ratings come from Yelp.)
- “Tweet ‘Hello from Macworld.’ “
- “Post to my wall ‘Hello from Macworld.’ ” (Yes it can post to Facebook.)
5 things you probably didn’t know Siri could do:
- Give you maps outside the USA
- Open an app
- Take a picture
- Make restaurant reservations
- Give movie showtimes and buy tickets
