Adorama, the photo store on 18th Street in NYC, makes it easy to get prints of the photos you’ve stored on your Mac (or PC).
Using their website, http://www.adoramapix.com, you can upload photos from your Mac to them. Once you’re done uploading, you can crop them, choose glossy or matte paper, choose a white border or no border, and have them do color correction.
You can also choose from a range of sizes–starting at wallet size (for $0.69), and going up to 20×30 (for $18). The site will warn you if you’re trying to print a photo at a size that’s too big, so that you don’t get a photo that looks all pixellated.
Then Adorama prints your photos professionally, on photo paper. It only takes them a few days to do the printing, and they’ll send you an email when they’re done. I go pick up my prints (as Adorama is around the corner from our office), or you can have them shipped to you.
I printed a few 20×30 poster-size prints, and bought inexpensive frames, and now we have great one-of-a-kind art in our office.
They also print on canvas, and can make greeting cards, photo books, and calendars.
