I just got a new MacBook Air 11″, the model Apple just recently introduced. I’ll be posting a few experiences with it.
The new MacBook Air 11″ has an identical appearance to the late 2010 model, but has the following improvements and changes:
- Internal storage now has 256 GB option (hooray)
- backlit keyboard
- Faster CPU: 1.6 GHz Core i5 with 3MB L3 cache, or optional 1.8 MHz i7 with 4MB L3 cache, replaces 1.4 or 1.6 GHz Core 2 Duo with 3MB L2 cache
- Faster Memory: 1333 MHz on DMI bus replaces 1066 MHz on 800 MHz bus
- Thunderbolt port replaces (but is forward compatible with) Mini DisplayPort
- no install media included; firmware can reinstall Mac OS X from the internet
Sweet little machine, I have to say.
