Use Your Mac to Access your PC at the Office

A client with an office in Queens and a home on Long Island has a Windows PC in the office, and just bought an iMac for his home. He asked, could we set up his home iMac to allow him to remotely access his PC at the office? He used to do it from home with his old PC but he wasn’t sure if he could do it on the Mac.

Yes, you can access your PC at the office from your Mac at home using Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection.

We set up his iMac in Queens remotely, from our office in Manhattan, and had it working in under an hour.

Remote Desktop Connection for Mac is included with Office for Mac 2011, and it’s also free to download on Microsoft’s website. (For Intel Macs only.)
